A mirror-paned door can open from the Blue Room into the Stenciled Room where contemporary artist Carolyn Hedge has painted willow and other traditional stencil patterns upon the walls. This room features two rare twin-size matching antique cannon-ball beds with reproduction-period bed coverings,
an antique tiger maple dresser and tiger maple side table, antique reverse-painted-on-glass mirror, plus lighting made from period vessels all compliment each other to guarantee a good night's sleep in this peaceful room. Looking out the north window, you can see the carriage house
and the lovely garden.

Patriot's Room

Reserve This Room

The Patriot's Room is located in the new section of the house which was built in 1993; however, it was built in the period style of the original house, and has fooled many an "expert". You are greeted by hand-planed wide boards, a reproduction 18th century fireplace, wainscoting, oriental rugs, an intricately carved 18th century inlaid wooden tester tall-post bed, plus an en-suite bathroom. Looking out of the east window and across the front lawn of the Mayflower Society House you can see the cupola over  Plymouth Rock and
the beautiful harbor beyond.

Mural Room

Reserve This Room

The Mural Room is located down the hall from the Stenciled Room and is only used as an additional bedroom when needed by a large group. The room is so named because of the beautiful murals which completely cover its walls. Depicted in the murals are serene, pale green trees and pastures, a New England Village overlooking a fanciful harbor complete with boats, a light house, a row of British Soldiers, and a representation of The Whitfield House on the shore. This room has an antique bow-testered carved mahogany canopy bed, a Sheraton side table, oriental rugs, and a view of the garden from the window.

sitting around a reproduction inlaid walnut and satinwood table, set with
Blue Willow China, silver service, Steuben Glass candlesticks and a

Living Room

The living room is an invitingly elegant space furnished with objects from both
the China and European trades. Guests have been known to say they felt as if
they had been transported into another time as they crossed the threshold of this
comfortable room. You will find a rare black Italian marble fireplace, a large
oriental carpet lying on the quarter-cut oak parquet flooring, two Queen Ann
arm chairs, a velvet ottoman, a 17th century oriental screen above an
inviting sofa which is flanked on each side by tiger maple side tables which hold
either a Rose Medallion or an Imari lamp. A Chippendale sideboard with its
decanter of spirits helps to complete the mood and invites you to sit
and relax for a while after a day's travel or sightseeing. The living room opens
into a smaller room with two overstuffed "garden" chairs, an ottoman,
and a beautiful oriental carpet adorning the quarter-cut parquet flooring.  Original art work hangs on the deep-green painted walls and two interesting antique oriental chests can be found as one nears the french doors which give you a clear view of the carriage house and the garden.
